Principal Consultant, Biopharmaceutical Sciences
Dr. Harrison received her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering & Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at Boston University with a specialization in genomic discovery and predictions. A pioneer in genomics working in and close to biotech labs, she created the first Drosophila melanogaster gene database, optimized the process by which physical maps are generated, and predicted protein-protein regulatory interactions in yeast mating. She continued work in genome mapping in the area of human cancer at Millennium Pharmaceuticals (now Takeda) and then designed and implemented the computational infrastructure for their first clinical data studies in a variety of therapeutic areas including Oncology, Schizophrenia, Diabetes, Asthma and Obesity. After providing bioinformatics support for AML/ALL research at the Broad Institute, she designed large-scale pre-processing and database protocols as a member of Harvard Medical School's ENCODE Project team. Dr. Harrison was awarded Boston University School of Management's Business Concept award for her work in drug discovery computing services. She then founded Consortium which specializes in branding, promotion, interactive marketing and CRM management. This business experience inspired her current work, the integration of pharmaceutical biotechnology and business development, at Biopharmix.
